Design and Control of Multicoil Active Magnetic Bearing System for High-Speed Application

In the rotating machinery sector, active magnetic bearing (AMB) has drawn great attention due to its benefits over conventional system. The high-speed technology is enhanced by AMBs, which also reduce maintenance costs and eliminate friction loss. This paper presents a unique, simpler, efficient design hardware implementation for applications using two-coil I-type bearings. To maintain 10 mm air gap between actuator rotor, two categories of controllers have been designed proposed system control position another detecting coil current through power amplifier. AMB incorporated into 3D finite element model determining properties. analysis then carried out under various situations, attractive force characteristics evaluated this suggested check performance multicoil along with stability analysis. simulated in MATLAB Simulink implemented validate different outputs viz. response response. Finally, an AC magnet rotate rotor after levitation, higher speed 19,643 rpm achieved comparison bearings, can be utilized industrial applications.
